OUR HERD
Silvan Park Belted Galloways was founded in January 2011 with the purchase of 2 Belted Galloway cows from the well-known studs Cumbria Partners and Koralea. One cow was halter broken and easy to handle but the other one wasn't. Not having a yard at that stage we still managed to halter break her within a few months.
Both cows delivered beautiful heifer calves and another stud heifer was purchased to compliment the herd.
This little hobby was taking off quick and within a couple of years a 120 acre cattle farm was purchased in Murrindindi, Victoria. This beautiful farm allowed us to grow a bigger herd.

We farm in a natural way where we are offering the cows a good, healthy diet consisting of non-improved and improved pastures and homegrown hay and silage. To keep our cattle in excellent health they are vaccinated with 7in1 and all the breeders are also vaccinated and tested for pestivirus. They get supplements and licks are always available for them.
Through selective breeding and a lot of handling of the cattle we have achieved to produce good quality, easy doing, and especially quiet cattle that are easy to handle.

Most of our cows and even calves are so quiet that we can pat them in the paddock.
